21 km south from San Juan del Sur is Playa La Flor, where Almost all year around the Paslama (Olive ridley) sea turtle comes ashore to nest at this wildlife reserve, where hatchling also occurs very often and in great number. The high breeding season takes place from July through out January; a very striking feature of this specie is the formation of massive nesting congregation known as arribadas, when as many as 27 thousands females literally can be seen in a single night.
